Dawn is passionately dedicated to providing essential support to LGBTQI+ individuals, families, foster and adoptive families, and diverse communities. Holding a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, with a specialization in Applied Community Psychology, Dawn is committed to making a positive impact.


With a solid educational foundation, Dawn has undergone training and actively volunteers at the Southern California Counseling Center, showcasing her commitment to community well-being beyond the private practice setting of Oliver Drakeford Therapy.

At the core of Dawn's practice lies a commitment to inclusive, strength-based care. She is passionate about empowering individuals and fostering collaboration to establish a resilient foundation for personal growth and healing. Dawn's therapeutic approach is characterized by collaboration, the cultivation of meaningful connections, and is firmly rooted in empowerment principles.

Guided by a cultural and social justice lens that emphasizes resilience, strength, and resourcefulness in the areas you already possess, Dawn utilizes an integrative lens that incorporates affirmative techniques. These include Internal Family Systems, Attachment-Based Therapy, Strength-Based/Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Community Resilience Model, and Non-Violent Communication.
